Ramchandra is a film about the life of Lord Rama, King of Ayodhya.It tells the story of Rama, an incarnation of God Vishnu, and his journey to rescue his wife, Goddess Sita who was kidnapped by Ravana. It follows Ravana’s efforts to manipulate Shurpaal (Rama) for personal gain against the wishes of Shiva.The film starts with Rama’s marriage with Sita after exile from Ayodhya and ends with Sita having been taken back by Ravana to Lanka. The film carries forward through her abduction by Ravana and her subsequent captivity in Lanka. The film is set in three time periods. The first being when Rama was young, the second when he returns to Ayodhya after banishment, and the third when his wife Sita is abducted by Ravana.The film has two important characters, Rama and Ravana.
